Course & Race Day Info

The Course: fast start, honest middle, savage finish

This is classic North Canterbury racing: big skies, grippy roads, and nowhere to hide.

Loburn School roll-out 20 km flat blast. Find your rhythm (and your bunch). Left onto German Road → fast, flowing, then a stinger over Summer Hill. Push almost to Cust, U-turn, and point it home. German Road return → a 2.5% grinding drag where watts and willpower do the talking. Right towards Loburn, then a cheeky left and 500 m sprint to the line. Commit early or get swamped.

Terrain & tactics

  • Flats : aero matters, rolling turns keep it tidy.
  • Rollers & Summer Hill : split-making territory.
  • 2.5% drag : if you’re on the rivet here, you’re not alone.
  • Sprint : 500 m that feels like five k. Pick your gear, hold your line.
